Metrology holding fixture

INTRODUCTION
This document describes the functionality of the fixture, and the basic dimensions.  Useful data (unit conversion), materials and complete manufacturing drawings also included in appendix.

MAIN SECTION
The fixture is movable. It is placed to a datum fixed girder on the metrology equipment. It is composed by the vee-block back part, the locator, the hook clamp, the spring driving pin and the permanent magnet. The vee-block locates the fixture with the datum shaft (girder) and has the magnet inside it. The permanent magnet is adjusted in order to always be tangent with the datum shaft (see figure above). Because of this contact the magnetic force holds the holding fixture on the datum shaft. The hook clamp is spring actuated. When we push the spring driving pin the hook releases the work so we can replace it. The hook clamp is enclosed between the locator and the vee-block.
