Wedge Clamp

INTRODUCTION
This document describes functionality of the fixture, design data, design units and complete manufacturing drawings.

MAIN SECTION
The locking mechanism locks the clamp in its position, securing the clamping action under heavy cutting forces. The function of wedge-operated clamp is the increasing and changing direction of the transferred forces with a single bevel wedge. A force is applied at a movable part (with a bevel edge), which is restrained to move only in one direction (see figure above). The upper plane of the movable part moves upwards parallel and clamps the work.
