MAIN SECTION
The oil seal removing tool is composed from the tool body, the ram, the upper abutment, the lower abutment, the three spreading jaws, the two compression springs, the garter spring and the dowel pins. After inserting the removing tool into the part and lower abutment has been brought to rest on a shoulder of the part, ram is pushed down. The ram conical end forced the three jaws to expand towards the oil seal. The three jaws engage the oil seal and when ram is pushed down further the tool’s body also forced down by the upper abutment (and snap ring). A set screw with a dog point screwed on the tool’s body limits the ram’s movement in both directions.
