INTRODUCTION
This document describes functionality of the fixture, design data, design units and complete manufacturing drawings.
MAIN SECTION
When the swinging positioner is in rest, the swinging block and the spherical locator are in horizontal position. The clamping position of the workpiece is determined by one hole in a beveled plane and a reference large hole. The positioner secures that the workpiece wouldn’t rotate. After the positioner has entered the hole, the other end of the work piece is lowered to its rest plane for clamping. A pusher and a compression spring always rotate the swinging block at the horizontal position.
The spherical locator is advantageous for this application since it will not bind during positioning and it will tolerate workpieces with holes in non-exact position (angle, distance).
