Handle |

There are many handle design variations. The two above designs are very simple and low cost and they can be manufactured in various size. Always keep in mind that the handle force in hand-operated clamping devices should not exceed 150 Newton. At the upper design a compression springs creates a pressure that holds the handle in any desired position and two lock washers provide positive limits. At the lower design a sliding fit between the handle and the shaft provides an equal with the above function. This configuration is a little more complicated because of the need of special tools (reamers for tolerances) and stock rod with standard tolerance. The two lock washer can be replaced with o-rings. The o-ring is a much more elegant solution and functional the same time because usually we don’t press the handle during rotation to exceed its axial limits.
