Usually when the item to be packaged is sensitive to moisture and has substantial weight, there is the problem of packing it in vacuum and mounting it on the deck of packaging box. How can we accomplish this when the bolts and special clamps for the item prevent the usage of the vacuum bag (for moisture)? Normal box bag doesn’t have the strength for maintaining vacuum and it has poor puncture resistance. In general it is not strong enough. The amount of the silica gel (drying agent) which is inserted into the cover to absorb moisture has to be calculated according to the volume of bag and the country of destination.

On the contrary the laminate box bag is a packaging cove which generally comprises a layer of metallized polyester, a layer of an aluminum foil and more layers of a special polyethylene. The laminate box bag covers entire the mounting deck of the item, which in turn is mounted on a single decked flat pallet. The single decked flat panel is mounted rigidly on the lower part of the four way pallet of the package. Between the mounting deck and the single deck pallet there are four blocks (or more) made from high density polystyrene foam, which absorbs the vibration and presses the laminate box bag against the single deck pallet. Four cup square bolts are holding the mounting deck and the foam blocks in place with the single decked flat pallet. Due to the fact that the laminate box bag encloses the mounting deck, the four cup square bolts are penetrating it. The holes are made with a hot round punch of a diameter equal to the square cup bolt. In order not to loose vacuum (or to prevent moisture), the laminate box bag is glued with the single decked pallet as well as with the polystyrene foam.
After having prepared the packaging materials, we can mount the transported item and then we can close the laminate box bag by heating its ends between them. When heating its ends (usually with a pair of heating metallic jaws) they are sealing firmly the package. We leave only a small open in order to remove the air from inside or to insert a protective gas. After that we can close the remaining opening and the package is ready for transportation. Two disadvantages of this method are the cost of the laminate box bag and the supplying sizes, otherwise it is excellent for packaging.
