Equalizer, double contact work piece clamping
|
by Lampros Georgiou - 20.12.2005
Equalizers are adjustable supports. They are used where the clamping of the work piece is not symmetrical, at rough or uneven surfaces, particularly in cast workpieces. When the work piece size does not permit the use of a bevel type equalizer, the double-pin ball equalizer is ideal. This equalizer (or compensator) has high stiffness, is very reliable and simple to build.

Quick release, wedge type cam action
|
by Lampros Georgiou - 20.12.2005
A quick release is designed to clamp and unclamp rapidly. This quick release clamp actuated by a wedge type cam. The fixed body of the clamp aligns the work piece from its feature hole and the slotted lever clamps it tight. The clamp can easily unclamped and remove the workpiece.

Lid and latching lever
|
by Lampros Georgiou - 20.12.2005
A good latching lever is always useful when designing jigs and fixtures. A good latch can secure a fixture’s lid in its clamping position during clamping procedure, or keep the fixture closed during transportation. The latching lever described in this document is ideal for small size lids.

Quick release, cam actuated knob
|
by Lampros Georgiou - 20.12.2005
A quick release is designed to clamp and unclamp rapidly. This quick release knurled edge gripped hand knob actuated by a cam. The cam cinches the knob and a flat provides a quick return. Simple, very reliable, low cost and easy to use.

Quick release, split nut
|
by Lampros Georgiou - 20.12.2005
A quick release is designed to clamp and unclamp rapidly. The quick release split nut is positioned rapidly to a screw that holds a work piece. The user needs only to turn it a few degrees to clamp tight the work.

Pusher clamp
|
by Lampros Georgiou - 20.12.2005
Pusher clamps exists as part of other fixtures and jigs or standalone. They vary from simple and low cost designs to complicated ones depending always from the applicable force and the workpiece size and shape. The pusher clamp described in this document is ideal for small flat bars under low cutting forces. It is movable but easily can be fixed.

Adjusting nut
|
by Lampros Georgiou - 18.12.2005
Threads and bolts are used in all applications as a major fastening, adjusting and clamping way. Although it is easy to manufacture, low cost and simple, has one major problem; when used in adjusting and clamping applications, the relative position (angle orientation) between the bolt and the threaded part depends on the thread helix start at each of them. This simple part provides by means of rotational adjustment (no differential) an axial adjustment of the unit.

Shaft clamping, wedge operated
|
by Lampros Georgiou - 18.12.2005
This simple stationary clamping may clamp a shaft in any position as it rotates and moves lengthwise. It is easy to manufacture, low cost, and can be included easily (with a simple hole) at any part.
